good news my friend faizan i successfully upgrade my spica this is the info:
firmware= 2.1 update 1
baseband= i570edxjb3
build= eclair

BUT....
am using a PANTHEON may battery is now easy to get lowbatt can you give me any latest firmware and OS for asia region please!!!


and also do you have tutorial how to download games and themes???

thats great! i dont see any apparent bug in jb3 firmware. i think you should carry on with it only. its good. pantheon is default desktop for eclair. but you can easily swap it to some other like ehome or pandahome. give a search for these in market!
and regarding download of games and themes, both are available in market and besides, take a look in android group here at androidmodz. you will definitely find some good stuff for your eclair powered device!

Hi, I tried to upgrade my spica,
the process was ok, except for after rebooting, the phone displayed the 'triangle icon with phone in the side' and hang up there.
i continue the process until the window display says ""<1> pass,,, <0> destroy instant,,,, <0>killed timer.
i think this was the last procedure.
then i unplugged my phone and restart it,
the problem now is, my phone only display the word 'samsung' and the loading bar.

i tried it 3x, same problem

btw, i used the I570EDDJB2 firmware.

this is a usual problem! nothing to worry about! its often due to incompatability of firmware you are using.
just look for jb3 baseband version. google it! it should do

Hi bro! Thanks for the prompt reply.
I found and download for jb3 as per suggested.
however after removing SIM and SD Card and put the phone in Download Mode, i connected the spica to through the usb cable.
previously there were no issues and i managed to proceed till the last step. However, this time there was a prompt after i connecting the spica to the computer. It says: "USB Device Not Recognized. one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognized it."
I restarted the computer and repeat the same method still facing the same problem. Please assist

that is because usb drivers along with spica doesnt support download mode. but if tried to reconnect few times, you may be able to connect it.
or use drivers from pdanet. download it from junefabrics official site. then you should be able to!

Hi bro! Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried to reconnect many times but only the SAMSUNG USB Composite Device appears under the universal serial bus controllers, the SAMSUNG Android USB Modem is absent from the modem. I've also tried downloading the pdanet but unable to work as it requires me to change the phone settings to enable usb debugging but i cannot do so coz the phone got stuck at the samsung logo with the loading bar page. Are there any possible solutions you could kindly suggest, or is it possible to return the phone back to its original state with 1.5 version? pls help

first try to use another usb port to connect and be sure rest of the usb ports are free.
still if it doesnt work, download kies! let it install drivers. hope that works then!

Hi Faizan! I've downloaded kies and tried to connect the drivers. Both the modem and USB Composite Device appears. in Odin the yellow box appears but there's no progress. Under message box, it stops at '<1> setup connection'. I later tried disconnecting the phone and reboot both the phone and windows but still the same result. Pls help.
