How to reset pattern lock of samsung galaxy mobile phones
Another issue in samsung galaxy mobile phones is the strong security offered by pattern lock. pattern locks once set and put to ON mode, just give you few chances to get it right and unlock the mobile, and if unfortunately anybody forgets the pattern lock, what to do?
few guyz report to hard reset the mobile but that wont work. to hard reset you need to be on screen. so there should be some other way. yes there is! always a geeky way to achieve!
if you forgot your pattern lock, just give few more tries to continue wrong efforts. at an instant, the OS will report 'attempts exceeded, enter with your gmail'. at this point just enter your email address and in the textbox for password just give value as 'NULL'. this will instantly ask for new pattern lock and you are done!
hope it helps!
thanx faizan bhai for that will try that,
I have a Galaxy S Vibrant, T959, its a T-mobile phone that I have used in Canada on the Wind mobile network without any problems. It is network unlocked.
But my son put in a pattern lock and forgot. This phone does not have a limit on how many times you can make a wrong pattern attempt except that after 5 tries it makes you wait 30 secs and then you can keep trying forever lol. Do you Sir know of a way I can get this fixed?
Thank you in advance.
i cant be sure about your problem but i have an idea. you can take some other phone and call your number. once you receive call on locked galaxy s, pick up the call. now during call, go to home screen and visit settings. you may be able to change pattern lock there. just give it a try
thanks but that did not work. it goes back to the pattern screen.
Can someone please help me, I cannot reset the phone. How can I do this ????
1) Log in to your google account on your pc, the same account you registered for your phone
2) After logging in look at the top right corner of your inbox/email page, it would say your google username. Like say if you name is John, and you have a google id thats registered to your galaxy s as ,email@example.com. Now this google id on the top right corner of the page would be displayed as firstname.lastname@example.org.
3) Type in the google id, thats visible on the right hand top corner of your page (email@example.com) into your galaxy s handset locked page, and type in the password.
NOW YOU WILL BEON TO THE NEW SCREEN TELLING YOU TO PUT IN ANOTHER PATTERN.
My nephew thought my pattern lock was a game and caused it to lock up after a number of attempts on my Samsung Galaxy S i9000. I have no idea what my gmail account is - apparently entering the correct address wont work anyway.
Samsung customer support are useless. They will tell you you cannot reset it yourself but to take it to an authorised samsung dealer and pay $39.00AUD with 2 day turn around time.
YES you can unlock it yourself but unfortunately you will have to reset it and lose all your apps/pics etc.
1. switch off. Hold volume UP and power button and home button simultaneously. release home button (and press again) while still holding volume up and power button. A boot up screen will pop up. Use volume keys to select (reset and restore) press home button to select.
2.Once reset and the phone starts up again it will still show locked. Get another phone to call your phone. as soon as you swipe answer press back key (arrow key) (you gotta be quick) and the main home screen will come up!!! . press the left menu button and select settings and turn off pattern code then go to menu and factory reset the phone again.
It worked for me ,.. hope it works for you too
I would like to say a big thank you for the above info. After my daughter phone locked out and many atempt to unlock it I came across this thread. after 3 tries I got over the lock! I would like to add when you make a call into the phone from another phone you need to press the back key within 2 seconds yes that is 2 seconds of answering the call or else it will not work. Thanks again for a great piece of advice!
